Overview
Rwanda is the fastest route to a mountain gorilla. Volcanoes National Park is a little over two hours from Kigali on good roads, so a trek is possible within 48 hours of landing. Permits are more expensive than Uganda's, and the trade is convenience and a shorter, steeper walk.
